My Thoughts: Real Life Love Story Reminding You Love and Family Is Important

Phew! Get the tissues and keep them by your side when reading this real life love story. From the beginning, author Jeff Dawson, tells readers how this story ends, but strangely that only lures you into wanting to know his tale about this "Second Chance" at love. This book proves true love can become a reality in life, it just takes real commitment to make it work.
Now, what sets this book apart from a contemporary romance book is the way the book is written. The story is told from Jeff's own thoughts in a reminiscing manner, as if he were sitting there, telling you his life's tale about his love affair with his soul-mate Debbie.
Jeff and Debbie meet in high school in 1977. Their lives are the cute classic teenage relationship until it changes when Jeff graduates and goes to college, while Debbie has one more year left at school. Their story is by no means clichΓ© from that point onward, and I won't spoil any parts, but.... life happens, rash words are said and decisions are done, so it isn't till 30 years later that the two reconnect. It's the reunion part of the story that is the most captivating, heartwarming, and ultimately heartbreaking as Jeff and Debbie reconcile the past, live in the present, and pray for a possible future.
Overall, I can't say the book is a typical romance story because it's not. No, this book is a true story and with that comes a depth to the circumstances in this retelling of Jeff and Debbie's love that is hard to really describe. Real love is unconditional and when you truly love another, you will do anything and be there for them no matter what. Jeff just honestly tells of his time with Debbie and it's real, not fiction. A reader can walk away from this book with the advice of knowing love is real and family is what matters most.

Hey, So Official Blog Schedule Update!

Well since I can state that I am officially bored out of my freaking mind not being allowed to read for weeks due to a lovely concussion. (Insert sarcastic clapping) I have now been cleared to slowly rehab back into my normal life. Well "normal" for most people is not reading 5-7 books a week for fun and studies, I'm a bookworm and nerd, can't be helped. Anyways, I realized that perhaps the best way to get back into my life pre-concussion is to adjust my weekly blog posts, so I don't pressure or purposefully regulate myself into reading too much in a week. All that being said in a probably confusing and rambling sort of way. Here is the new schedule for the blog if ya wanna take a gander below.

Starting as of Monday March 30, 2015

"Miscellaneous Monday " (posted on the 1st & 3rd week of the month)
-features any books which don't fit any specific genre or is in an under popularized genre.

"Y.A or N.A. Tuesdays " (posted on the 2nd & 4th week of the month)
-will feature any books associated in those Young Adult or New Adult genres.

"Wednesday Wondering & Wanderings"
(posted on the 1st & 3rd week of the month)
-will be about a trip or event I went on that week or just about something brought to remembrance from an occasion during the week. Could be book associated, or not.

"Romance Thursdays " (posted on the 2nd & 4th week of the month)
-covers Chick lit and Rom-Coms, anything in those genres that aren't labeled anything more specific.

"Friday Favs" (posted on the 1st & 3rd week of the month)
-features books I bought that are currently trending or are my personal favorite free read finds that I've read years ago and have followed the series or author since then.

"Spotlight Saturdays " (posted on the 2nd & 4th week of the month)
-post occurs ever 2nd and 4th Saturday highlighting authors, book series, with interviews, and post special announcements.

Sundays and God said REST so I shall too.

In summary-
1st and 3rd weeks in the month will be:
"Miscellaneous Monday "
"Wednesday Wondering & Wanderings"
"Friday Favs"

2nd and 4th weeks in the month will be:
"Y.A or N.A. Tuesdays "
"Romance Thursdays "
"Spotlight Saturdays "

Hey, So Imma Have to Pause For A Bit . . .

Sooooo it turns out reading can at times be hazardous for your health. Who knew?! Ya see, I got into a car accident last week, which was totally not my fault, but I walked away with the most pain. Turns out I ended up with a concussion and a cervical sprain. Well main point is I can't be on the computer too long before my head starts pounding and my brain gets fuzzy and words go blurry and the world starts turning. Also, reading is a no go, tried it despite being told to stay away, and well anytime I even read it all just slips away then my brain shuts down and then I'm out for a nap for like the next 3 hour or so. Yeah it's great.
So in the end I'm off work at home doing nothing. Well I can watch some tv and movies but nothing too flashy or fast moving or too productive. So that means no sponge bob, fast & furious or any documentaries. But really all I was hoping to do was read, but that's a no go, sooo I'll need to take a brake on blogging and reading. Oh well, Life is life and there is nothing I can do except accept it and live it. So goodnight now, because typing this thing has made me weary and now I'm off to take a nap. See ya.

"Wednesday's, Wonderings & Wanderings": Fortune in Fortune Cookies

I love eating sushi and Chinese food especially with my family and friends. At the end of every meal wether it be a lunch, dinner, takeout or sit dinner you get the bill and Fortune Cookies!
Fortune Cookies are a hit and miss thing for me taste wise. Either they are really delicious or taste like cardboard. Most are a light brown but some can be dark brown too, I even had an orange one once, that didn't taste like an orange.
But let me get to this post's point.  The best part of the fortune cookie is the fortune inside. My family loves to open them all together and read them out loud to see if we can have a "Freaky Friday" moment. If you're not familiar in the movie Freaky Friday, the new version with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsey Lohan, they open fortune cookies and read the same fortune and then find themselves inside each other's bodies. So since then we always try to find the same fortune when opening our cookies.
Well it finally happened once at our favorite family Chinese restaurant. It was my sister and myself that had the twin fortunes, as pictured above. Sadly or I should say thank God we didn't switch bodies or my poor sister would've had a hard life in my place. Since then we still look for a time we'll all have the same fortune but 5 of us getting the same fortune seems highly improbable. Well most of the time we hardly take the fortunes to heart. For example my fortune on Monday read, "Your fortune will be on your right side." Yeah brilliant fortune for me since where we were seated at the time there was a wall on my right  soooo guess I've got no fortune. But I'll just keep looking to my right side I guess.

My Thoughts: People, Plains, and Paradoxes

My Oh! Oh My! This book is an interesting read dealing with the physics of time travel and existence of more than one universe. The intended audience is meant to be a Y.A. Teen, but the science can definitely keep an adult easily entertained if not completely intrigued. Because really doesn't time travel intrigue everyone? Especially if it's to fix ones mistakes?
The main character of the story is a  17 year old girl named Etta, whom readers are shown is an orphan just trying to survive in the foster care system. Sadly too many unexplained accidents have occurred around her that Etta is transferred to a girls housing facility. Things seem bleak till she is approached by Cooper, an attractive man, not much older than her, telling Etta she's not from this reality and he's there to take her home to her real reality. Etta is then thrown into her real reality and life gets strange from there on. It turns out she is special and is a linchpin for all the realities, but all Etta would like is to know her family and live her life and be normal for once.
Overall I enjoyed the book but can't say I'll read the rest of series. It was okay just wasn't enough to grab me. Loved the concept and most of the writing. However the character dialogue and chemistry always seemed stunted and flat. I know it's a Y.A. book but those too can be written with a flow. Now there was some good banter here and there; but even the parts where the author is clearly trying to spice up Etta and Cooper chemistry, the scenes felt flat, forced and rather awkward. Plus I pretty much figured out some big twists by the middle of the book so that killed the story and series for me. Oh and I must give props to the author for keeping the science understandable, because the science involved concerning multiple universes is complicated and can be boring if explained improperly. So last words, as always you could get it, read it and maybe purchase the rest of the series, or do as I did and just go. . . Hey, It Was Free!

My Thoughts: Add This Book to Your Goodreads

I read the first edition and loved Mica and Lexy, now I can't wait to read the updated version and the new books to follow. These authors are able to write the perfect best friend combo, because well, duh, they are best friends, so they kinda have a leg up on authors doing it solo. Seriously though I truly did love the relationship between Mica and Lexy and can only wait to see how this series will develop and see what new trouble they will get into. Both Lexy and Mica remind me of myself and my BFFs, so that's probably why I like the terrible dou so much. Either way I highly suggest trying out the book when it's re-released on March 26th.
