Rachel Myers never meant to stay in Payton. Her eyes were set on bigger things than waitressing at Clark’s Bar. She wants to perform on a stage of her own with bright lights, fame, and fortune. But something got in the way—Joshua Clark. He’s a good man who loves her, a solid rock she can depend on. She wants that to be enough, but it hasn’t quelled her yearning for the big city.

Josh knows Rachel wants more out of life and might leave one day. Yet so far, she hasn’t gone anywhere. Deep down, he believes his love is enough to keep her…or at least he hopes so. Until one night, a city boy from Hollywood promises Rachel a record deal and destroys everything.

Jumping at a chance she never thought she’d have, Rachel leaves Payton. And Josh. But the sparkle of Los Angeles is not all it’s cracked up to be, and Rachel quickly figures out that some sacrifices are not worth the risk. Is she too late? Will Josh forgive her, or has her desire for fame ruined the best thing she’s ever had?

Sometimes you have to say goodbye before you can say forever.

My Review
"Home Is Wherever I'm With You."
This is the fourth installment of the songbird series and the books only continue to rise emotionally leaving you feeling good long after you've finished reading. New characters are introduced opening up the stage for more novels in the making, but don't worry some of the past favorites make an appearance. Home is an emotional read that pulls you from beginning to difficult middle to the sweet beautiful end. Oh and if you're not into country music, like me, no worries Melissa Pearl does a fantastic job scoring this book with music illustrating the moment, so definitely que up the playlist provided when you read the novel you'll be glad you did.
Having promised her mama that she would make something of herself by not wasting her talent, Rachel Myers is itching to get out of small town, Payton. Rachel knows that after the hard time she had getting to Clark's Bar she should be happy with her waitressing job, warm bed, and occasional performing opportunity on the bars small stage. Plus on top of it all she has the boyfriend of her dreams the "Grizz" Joshua Clark himself. But she's restless feeling like she should be in a place bigger than Payton and fears her time of stardom will never come. Until a man from L.A. comes into the bar and offers to take her on as a client offering big promises if Rachel will return to L.A. with him. Joshua is immediately against it but Rachel's sees it as her big break. The only thing is could the L.A. opportunity break Joshua and Rachel apart? Is Rachel's dream really worth throwing away her home and love?
Overall, fantastic emotions, characters, plot, music I just loved it! The struggle Rachel faces of choosing which dream to pursue is something we might have all faced making her extremely relatable. When your dream is something you'd give anything for is it really worth it? Rachel found out in the worst way that it's not. Watching Rachel figure out her real dream was hard, but beautiful in the end and makes you think about about you're reaching for and why. Melissa Pearl did such a great job capture the despair Rachel felt as she got further away from home, that when she finally found freedom a reader can feel that fresh breathe too that she is free and can go home at last. So if you are looking for a book that will teach you dreams are worth working for but not worth selling you soul for and to not put things above those you love, then this book is for you.

ALL THE SONGBIRD NOVELS CAN BE READ AS STAND-ALONES.
One night can change everything…
Nessa Sloan has been in love with Jimmy Baker since the ninth grade when they started up a rock band together. Five years later they’re about to hit the big time—Chaos wins a recording contract and nation-wide tour with Torrence Records. After their celebration party, the two best friends have a one-night stand that will
tear their relationship apart.

On the run from Jimmy’s rejection, Nessa takes off on her motorbike, but an accident brings her escape to a tragic end. Now trapped in a broken body, Nessa has to face a future stripped of the one thing that’s gotten her through every past challenge—playing the drums.

Jimmy never meant to break his best friend’s heart, and he will forever regret taking her to bed then treating her like one of his groupies. But once he’d crossed that line, he couldn’t go back. Now Jimmy is on a mission to do something he’s never done before—win a girl over.
Angry and confused by her new disability, Nessa doesn’t want Jimmy’s help. But she has nobody else to rely on…and his pigheaded ass won’t leave her alone. Can these two stubborn hearts get past their own insecurities to figure out what true love really looks like? Or will they drive each other crazy before they finally see the truth?
It’s infuriating, irresistible, and all-consuming…it’s true love.

My Review:
"I Absolutely Truly Love This Book!"
This book has my heart, and this couple, Ness & Jimmy, are absolutely my favorite Songbird couple! Their story is one of heartbreak, forgiveness, understanding, and dreams, both shattered and fulfilled, all by love. The amount of love shared in this book by the couple and the band mates will make you want to cry sweet tears of happiness and tears of empathy for them and everything they go through.
The cast in this book will leave you wanting more from the great group of Chaos. However, Jimmy and Ness are who take most your love and focus in this novel. Jimmy the lead guitarist in the band Chaos has had his mates, music and choice of women until one night he chose Ness, one of his best friends and drummer. She is the one girl he should never mess around with but the one girl he could never stay away from, which scared him into pushing her away for the sake of the band's success. Ness has waited for the chance to have Jimmy see her as more than just a friend, but after the one amazing night together Jimmy pushes her away and tries to act like their relationship is untouched by their amazing night. Unable to take the rejection Ness leaves the band and Jimmy to clear her mind but winds up in life changing accident. The accident causes Jimmy and Ness to realize what and who is important in life, and makes Ness look for her new purpose in the band and in life.
Overall, I knew after reading about Ness in "Home" that I would love her story and I absolutely did! Ness' story is real and relatable to many, including myself, because when one's life dream is taken from them in a split second you are left empty and lost. That feeling is so overwhelming at times it can be devastating to some, so it was beautiful to read how the band and Jimmy helped Ness find her way to heal not just physically but emotionally too. As for Jimmy, he really is Ness' perfect pair, he too had a damaged past, but was definitely worth the time to have that relationship Ness needed not just wanted. Now I can't wait to read Marcus' story and more from the Songbird novels as this series gets better and better with each new novel. Sooo happy I can go back and re-read all of them whenever I need an emotional pick me up, especially this novel. In the end all I can really say about this True Love is that it is Freaking Perfect!
