Hey, It's A Blog Tour for "Wildfire Hurricane" by Amelia James
by Amelia James
When Simone Leveque met Dash Ryder in seventh grade, she immediately fell for him—head over heels down the stairs…
The couple in this story had chemistry galore, but the plot scenario just went too far for me too believe and allow myself to be taken into their perilous danger. This is the first book I've read from author, Amelia James, however a reader can quickly tell she loves to give her audience a very steamy romance.
After being childhood friends and then sweethearts, Simone Leveque and Dash Ryder, had their relationship ended by betrayal. Dash says Simone slept with his brother while Simone says that's a lie, but both went their separate ways after the incident until a job transfer. Dash is the superintendent of Wilhelm County's wildfire hotshot crew for the small mountain city called, Belladonna's Peak. The job is dangerous but exactly what Dash is great at. Until Simone is transferred in as his new boss. Simone and Dash, always had an explosive kind of love, but with all the time and hurt between the tension is boiling. While the couple tries to figure out what they were and are to each other, they have also have a job to do when a wildfire gets out of control and a hurricane threatens everything else.
Overall, the book was okay. The couple definitely had great chemistry but left me confused at points. I found it intriguing how the couple's love making was used as plot device, in that how well they connected or didn't finished, reflected their status as a couple. One aspect I completely loved was the interracial couple, which was done tastefully by not overly highlighting it, but just noting it every so often, making this story unique by that. Now the one thing I personally couldn't buy into was the wildfire hurricane, I know it's all fiction, but I live in California and wildfires are sadly very normal. So making the big moment into a huge inferno with a hurricane for me wasn't believable, sorry just wasn't sold. However, if you're looking for a hot romance of two lovers reconnecting and reigniting their burning flame amidst a wildfire hurricane, you'll enjoy this novel.
