My Thoughts: Could Be A Soap Opera With All Its Drama

Unknown Past, Lies, Illegal Pharmaceuticals, Money and Murder; once you add in the love element a reader has a very dramatic story to read. This story could definitely be drawn out to be a soap opera, but Elisabeth Naughton wrote the book in such a way that it wrapped up neatly in one novel and doesn't leave you wanting. The characters have so many emotions and situations to weed through because of how messy their lives become it's a story that keeps you reading on till the beautiful end.
Living without knowing her past due to a car accident Kate Alexander has been trying to adjust to her life. But things just don't seem to feel right with her husband, Jake, and only her son Reed. With no memories, Kate relies only what's she is told by Jake and friends. When her husband dies in a plane crash, Kate is left on her own, it's then that she finds inconsistencies in what she was always told about her life. Kate finds a photo of a girl who could only be her daughter, with that discovery Kate knows she must find out the truth of who she really is and the family she must have somewhere. The trail of evidence Kate finds leads to San Fransisco where she is unexpectedly reunited with her husband Ryan Harrison, the tabloid playboy millionaire and ruthless pharmaceutical businessman, and she finally meets the girl from the photo her daughter Julia. However, the reunion is anything but happy as two families are trying to cope with the situation of how Kate was believed to be dead from a plane crash 5 years earlier, yet she is now somehow alive but living under a new name without any memory of the life she had before. Emotions rise along with many questions left for Kate to find answers too but at what cost? When money may be at the center of all that involves Kate and Ryan their situation gets emotional and deadly.
Overall, love this book because it's so drama filled and mysterious. I love a good mystery and when everything was confusing for Ryan and Kate it's was wonderful to see them have to piece not only the situation but their emotions too. Kate is not the same person she was and having to get Ryan to see that is one of the biggest issues in the story, but that moment when they click is emotionally and physically explosive. Ryan is confused and conflicted when he meets Kate knowing its his Annie, but not, is so sad that your heart breaks for him and Kate. I will totally admit I was not a fan of Ryan at first, but as he softened so did my feelings for him. So if you're up for a story filled with questions and confusing emotions all twisted up surrounding a mystery that needs to be solved, but the cost of the answers may mean death, unless they can all learn to trust each other and figure out their circumstances to begin a new chance at a HEA, than this book is a good story to try.
