My Thoughts: Win the Games Or Lose Your Soul?
I devoured this novel! It picks up right after book 2. So if you have not read book 1 or 2, you must read them or this novel will be thrilling but may not be as impactful. And this book is filled with dark but great moments as the House of Conrath builds and perhaps falls.
The arrival of King Cyrus is everything Alivia Conrath expected and more. Alivia newly awakened from her death finds her hunger ravenous, but her loyal house is there for her. Cyrus too is happy to help Alivia as she begins her life as a Born. Now a true Royal vampire the games begin. King Cyrus intoxicates Alivia but she feels at odds with the pull and knows she may not be his queen. Plus she feels something for the spy who makes her feel alive, which is something Alivia is loosing as her soul darkens each day. Alivia begins to fear her new self and knows she is becoming the things she once thought evil. So when the games go too far and a problem arises, Alivia may not be able to handle it, even with her new sense of strength.
Overall, I love it and want more! The fact that it ends on a cliffhanger isn't an issue at all, because this series is worth continuing. Alivia is a complicated character in a complicated world in a complicated situation. And I love it all! The vampire King Cyrus is crazy bipolar but an amazing addition to the plot to pull out so much more from Alivia, I can't wait to see what happens in book 4.  Alivia has a whole new lifetime ahead of her and learning what or who she truly is now is something possibly terrifying but definitely exciting.  I'm just hoping she says no to a certain guy but yes to another, that's all I'll say on that. So if you're in the series great you'll love this book as Alivia becomes Royal and if you haven't read the series do please it's getting good.
