- SYNOPSIS -
As matriarch of Earth’s Angels, Alexis Knight is charged with leading the world to recover and
rebuild after being ravaged by human and supernatural wars. So far, the challenge hasn’t been
too difficult as most of Earth’s inhabitants remain in underground bunkers. Alexis’s own
community, The Loft, is in trouble. Their water source is drying up, so she and her elite team go
to the surface to find a new one. But in a surprise attack by a new kind of legendary creature,
Alexis loses her memory of who & what she is.
While her team scrambles to find the antidote to the black magic affecting her mind, Alexis makes new plans of her own. Until her memory returns, though, her abilities as a leader are questioned, especially when an outside group arrives to initiate a coup against her and her team.

My Rating:
My Thoughts: New World And New Problems
First of all the fact this book exists is an answer to prayer, because the Soul Savers series was set to be finished, BUT surprise to us fans it's now continuing! And of course author Kristie Cook starts this bridge into the next part of the series with a doozy of a story with this novella. I seriously can't wait for book 8 to be released and see what our favorite characters will do for the world.
Awakening amongst strangers calling her by name and talking to her with familiarity, Alexis can't recall who she is or what happened to her memory. Confused about herself but still able to recall skills and some abilities here and there, Alexis feels wholly out of place, especially when looked to as a the Angel's Army leader in the post-apocalyptic world. Then of course there is a certain man named Tristan that makes her react to him in a way she can't control, but still has no memory of. So when danger and sickness begins to fall upon the underground base Alexis has to decide to help fight or flee. And the biggest question remains will she ever retrieve her memory or push on without it?
Overall, great icebreaker into the next novels. This novella helps remind readers what happened last time, as well as explaining a bit of what's been going on in the meantime. Alexis has amnesia and it's heartbreaking to see her doubt herself, especially when she interacts with Tristan and her babies. Poor Tristan got a taste of single parenting this time around, yet handles like he's super hot dad. All that said, I loved how much stronger Alexis became after everything was resolved, because with the hint of what's to come for the group it looks like the rebuilding of the world will be hard work to say the least. So definitely grab the novella to tied you over as the next novel is sure to be great.
