My Thoughts: Rival Gangs and Ghouls Set On Revenge Create Great POEtic Thriller!

Seriously this story blew my mind! The story is amazingly complex and highly narrative bringing to life the gang war torn inner city streets of  L.A. The book does have explicit language and scenes, but most is needed for realism. Steinbaum's plot is like a puzzle with each character and their back story each are an important detailed piece, which when it's all done a reader can see how everything had been all connected from the beginning someway somehow.
The story revolves a round a string of mysterious deaths concerning two rival street gangs, the Alvarado Street Diablos and the North Rampart Lobos. Everything seems to stem back to the day when English Prof. Warren Palmer, aka Prof. Poemer, was killed in a drive by shooting. The Diablos and Lobos have always been at war with each other nothing new for gangs to be at war, but what has the cops and the gangs spooked is what's taking out the gang members. Lobos and Diablos are dying in strange ways, times and places by an unknown person and no one know how. The key to it all maybe who's involved and discovering what may have started it all.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book. Truthfully I had wanted to read it just because I knew it was centered in my area of L.A. However the plot and the way it was written was so enthralling, I found myself really into the story. At first you are given so many characters and pieces of information, not knowing what it all means, but as the story goes on connections form and the plot thickens. By mid book you will be so into the book you'll be wondering how the heck it will all end. Now my only issue is there were 3 sex scenes that could have been implied rather than embellished. Especially the rape scene it wasn't too detailed as the "love" scenes, but I really didn't see the need for sex at all. Oh and as for the language in the story it's explicit, but for gang members it's realistic as to how they talk, trust me. I liked how this author sought to bring to light the fact gang members are victims of their circumstances as many forget that too often. These gangs are formed because their lives at home aren't good and it's then that society has this new sub society, which we'd rather ignore than deal with and try to prevent than help escalate. Anyways, So if you are okay with foul language and are looking for a thriller that involves Poe's dark form of justice and couple people out seeking revenge but may find revenge is being served cold and the only form of happiness may be tolerance and forgiveness, this book will be great.

Book 3 in the Single Lady Spy Series
The End of Tomorrow

Just as things start to settle into a bit of a routine, a single phone call from a certain arms dealer halts everything.
Evie's spy instincts kick into gear, putting being a parent on the back burner.
But it's not the only thing taking a backseat to the mission.
Evie's love life also takes a hit when Coop decides not to trust Servario's latest tip from the underworld, and accuses her of feelings Evie isn't sure she can deny.
When Servario's information is confirmed by an attack on a major city, the team is once again swept up in the chaos that comes with protecting the Burrow.
Only this time the mission isn't saving the Burrow from the usual suspects. This time it's saving the world from a young woman on the verge of creating something so deadly Evie isn't sure the Burrow should have it either.
But could you end an innocent's life to stop them from ending everything, including tomorrow?
Don't miss book three in the bestselling Single Lady Spy series!
**Note: This series is seriously
for VERY mature readers only! Very dirty at parts, but Evie is a BA woman spy on a mission you can't help but want to read more about.**
"As per the usual this is a weird book.
I am trying people, but that normal romance is just not in here. So I hate to warn you ALLLLL over again, but we have disturbing scenes, weird sex, a tiny bit of Stockholm and twists and turns that will have you cursing my name and staying up way past bedtime.
I am sorry. I cannot write a cheesy chick book. I am flawed.
If you read the Lonely, this book doesn't have any of the same elements and is a completely different storyline, but it's weird just the same - just not in the same way. It different in the way the Lonely was, not at all like my other novels. It is a contemporary and adult spy thriller meets erotica.
This is not a normal romance. It is a nine book series, so there will be unanswered questions. There are themes that are erotic and filthy. Is it the dirtiest book out there, hell no. It's far more story than erotica. It's funny and I think you will relate to the characters.
This is adult, not New Adult and not Young Adult. It is my first so be gentle...
Enjoy the Ride!! 19+"

My Thoughts: One Collision Leads To Two Lives Changed

Good romance between characters that otherwise wouldn't have associated with each other. This story at its core was more than a romance, and sought to bring a message about not judging others based on circumstances or rumors. Marie Force does a great job introducing a great group of characters and lovely setting that will entice a readers to read more stories in the series.
Returning to his hometown of Gansett Island, Mac McCarthy plans to only stay long enough to recuperate and help aid his father in preparing the sale of the McCarthy's Resort Hotel before he heads back to Florida where he now works and lives. However, after shortly landing Mac accidentally has a collision with a woman on bike. The woman is left badly injured and Mac immediately rushes to her aid. Upon meeting her eyes Mac finds himself hooked. Maddie Chester has only one goal and that's to take care of her son Thomas, but the accident puts her job in jeopardy. So when Mac offers to take care of her and Thomas, literally sweeping her off her feet, she's guarded and wary about his intentions toward her. Maddie knows she has a "reputation" in town and has no intention of letting a McCarthy get to her, especially with promises he may never keep like so many before him.
Overall, great romance. Though to me  Mac seemed to be more developed as a character than Maddie. Most likely due to how much more involved the McCarthy family was over Maddie's family. That's my only issue, I wanted to have more of Maddie's family since it clearly played into her dysfunctional background, but I'll assume Marie Force will perhaps flush that out in a later book. The relationship between Mac and Maddie is witty, sweet and rather steamy. Mac is undoubtedly the most standup man who is a modern day knight in shining armor, who didn't hesitate to change a diaper, Keeper!! Maddie has trust issues and rightfully so after all she's gone through, but seeing her learn to let down her walls to allow Mac in is wonderful. So if you are into stories about woman who are guarded and dealt bad hands in life but stays strong even after craps been said about them, then they are bumped into by a man who is perfect for them but she'll takes a while to admit it. Then this book is great to try since hey, it is free!
