- SYNOPSIS -
In this fast-paced romantic suspense, China Mack will make one final choice.

Computer genius China Mack may be the former head of Vigilance, the government’s clandestine spy program, but she can still be knocked off balance. And two back-to-back personal blows have thrown her into a tailspin.

While her relationship with tech billionaire Jackson Cooper is on the rocks, China is testing the boundaries of what she feels for man-of-mystery Clark Slattery. But when China learns that her mother’s death sixteen years ago wasn’t an accident, she can’t rest until she knows the truth. And China’s own father, an elusive ex–CIA agent, might have been the killer. To avenge her mother’s death, she needs help, and both Jackson and Clark step up to the plate. But when her investigation is linked to a decades-old international plot to hack the New York Stock Exchange, putting both of the men she loves in danger, China must make an impossible decision to keep them safe.

As the three of them are plunged into a far-reaching conspiracy, China’s notions of love and trust are turned upside down. For China, this final case couldn’t be more personal—or more dangerous.

My Thoughts: Beware Emotional Roller Coaster Ahead!!
I’ve been in a reading funk for over two weeks thanks to this book. It’s left me in such an emotional wreck because I just can’t decide if I loved it or not, due to China’s final decision. Honestly I re-read the series in prep to read the final book, so when it came to the end I was stuck in shock all alone at 2am. All my emotions pushed aside I’ve finally decided after much thought and several attempts to write a review, that yes, I loved the book because it was #teamchina all the way!!
Choosing to explore her friends with benefits relationship with her way too hot for his own good agent Clark Slattery, China Mack feels nothing but guilt for putting a stop to her relationship with tech billionaire Jackson Cooper. So when she opts to try to mend her and Jackson’s relationship by informing him friendship is all she wants, Jackson does not take it nicely, nor does Clark in finding out China still has feelings for her ex even if just seeking friendship. Now if only the two men in her life were her only issue, but life for China doesn’t work that way, and she finds herself seeking the father she never knew about trying to avenger mother and once again trying to stay alive. Despite their relationship issues all three: China, Jackson, and Clark work together to work out what threaten each of their lives and any possible futures.
Overall, great series conclusion the had me enthralled, anxious, mad, crying, shocked and then content. China really shined thorough in this novel when she showed everyone especially her men that her happiness what important just as much as theirs even if that meant letting Jackson and Clark go. China has always been a character I connected to the most so when she did choose and didn’t pick the man I was rooting for I was crushed, but his ending was beautiful and leads to more wonderful news that I won’t spoil. I just loved how author, Tiffany Snow, built the moment of China’s choice and even had Kade make a quip about it. And not gonna lie I even loved the beautiful epilogue, because China finally got her HEA. So if you’ve been reading this series since the beginning definitely read this finale and enjoy all the emotions you’ll be sure to feel.

Chapter 1:
Please take care, dear China, and know that while your
biology may have been a falsehood, the love of those
closest to you has always been true.

                           All my love,
                                      Mom

My mother had been murdered. It hadn’t been my fault she’d died in that car wreck.
The idea was difficult to wrap my head around. I’d harbored guilt for being the only survivor that night all my life. My mother had been everything good in my world. And in a horrifying instant, my life had changed forever.
And to think the man she’d been so madly in love with—my biological father—had killed her . . . it was too much to process.
Love. Bonnie said I should trust in love. My mother had loved Mark, and he’d betrayed her. I’d loved her more than anything, and she’d died. Jackson said he loved me, but he couldn’t forgive me for ending us, which I thought was something you did when you loved someone.
Love opened you up to being hurt. It was akin to not only someone pointing a loaded gun at you, but handing it to them, too. You just had no idea how long you’d have until they pulled the trigger.
Clark and I had something, there was no denying that. I liked him and cared about him. But there was a thick wall between us that had Jackson written all over it.
I glanced at my phone for the fiftieth time in the past thirty minutes. I hadn’t heard from Clark all evening. He usually texted to at least say good night, no matter where he was, and he’d been in a few different time zones the past several weeks. But tonight . . . nothing.
It made me ache inside. The wall said Jackson, but the hurt inside my chest was all Clark.

- SYNOPSIS -
As the head of the government’s secret Vigilance spy program, computer guru China Mack already has her hands full when her billionaire boyfriend, Jackson Cooper, asks for one of them in marriage.

Thrown for a loop by the sudden proposal, China’s usually well-ordered life takes another hit when someone tries to assassinate the president. Even that comes with a shocking twist: the primary suspect is none other than her ex-partner, Clark Slattery. With nowhere else to turn, the sexy loner needs China’s help and expertise. Clark has linked the assassination attempt to a failed secret operation undertaken six years ago—and a deadly cover-up that’s putting the leader of the free world in the crosshairs. But the president isn’t the only one in harm’s way.

Now, China is going to have to dig deep for information that’s beyond even her clearance. And what she discovers may have far-reaching consequences for her life and everyone else in it.

My Thoughts: China Mack Is Totally Back!!
To say I was eagerly waiting for this book is an understatement! Tiffany Snow has crafted another successful installment in the corrupted heart series and let me just say I’m sooo happy there is another book to follow. IF you haven’t read the previous novels do so immediately, because: one they’re amazing and two they’re vital to understanding what’s happening and what’s to come.
Continuing to run Vigilance, the government’s secret spy program only enacted by the president himself, China Mack is faced with many situations that are life threatening or altering, but nothing has prepared her for a sudden marriage proposal from her super sexy rich boyfriend, Jackson Cooper. Now, never one to let anything throw her routing driven life for too long, China does what she does best, and immediately helps those she loves with no thought to herself. After the President is almost assassinated and all clues begin to point to her partner Clark Slattery, China begins to dig into past operations and Clark’s past to find out any connections. Problem is when dealing with espionage and government secrets some information may be too dangerous to ever be revealed.
Overall, great hilarious and suspenseful, chapter after chapter read! China is my girl, because the more I read of her the more China Mack shines as both brains and beauty. China is a brainiac but a simple girl with her issues making her relatable. Now the conflict of should it be Clark or Jackson is there in this novel, but honestly its like can China really lose in choosing between those two fine choices? Each man is show cased more in this novel, especially Clark and I must admit I’m still a huge Clark fan despite any proposal offered by Jackson. Also freaking love Mia and all she does in supporting China, hope I have a niece as cool and understanding as her, because Lord knows I have my quirks. And Can I just say love the bit of cross over of the Kathleen Turner characters into this series, even if its because of a bullet shot at him. So if your into a geek being the heroine midst government conspiracies, then you’ll enjoy this novel.

Chapter 1:
I had a boyfriend for Valentine’s Day.
It was Valentine’s Day, and I, China Mack, had a boyfriend.
My boyfriend and I were going on a date, on Valentine’s Day.
No matter how many times and ways I said it inside my head, it still felt like a fairy tale. I was one of those people who ignored Valentine’s Day. If someone brought it up, I shrugged it off as a “Hallmark“ Hallmark Holiday.” Then I’d go home and shoot up men on Halo. A lot of men (I was pretty darn good at Halo).
But tonight, there would be no first-person-shooter games for me, because I had a real-life boyfriend who was taking me to a real-world brick-and-mortar restaurant for a classic, romantic Valentine’s Day date.
I’d even been promised roses and chocolates. (Yes, I’d asked for them, but still. He could’ve said no.) There would be flowers and candy and a boyfriend and wine and dinner and fantastic, toe-curling sex afterward with my amazing, wonderful, handsome, brilliant, and, did I mention rich? boyfriend.
It was going to be perfect.
As soon as I squeezed into my dress.
“Stop wriggling,” Mia complained. “You’re going to get your skin caught in the zipper, and that’ll hurt like hell, trust me.”
        “It itches,” I complained.
“So what? You look amazing. You’re wearing it, and I don’t care if it itches. Now hold your hair so it doesn’t get caught in the zipper. And be careful! I worked hard on those curls.”
Mia was my sixteen-year-old niece who’d gotten all those “girl” genes that had skipped right over me. My hair was coal black, thick, and long. Usually, my hair style of choice—and ability—was a ponytail. Tonight, Mia had spent an hour with various heating and styling implements to turn my hair into a work of art. And I had to say, she’d succeeded.
Long curls in an artful disarray streamed down my back, while the sides were pinned up behind my ears. Some twisting strands were left loose and framed my face, making my jawline appear delicate and feminine—two adjectives I had trouble pulling off on the best of days.
My usual attire was jeans, a T-shirt, and a button-up shirt layered over that because I was perpetually cold. Tonight, I was guaranteed to freeze because the dress Mia was currently zipping me into had less fabric than my summertime Endor Star Wars pajamas.
I had one “real” dress (Mia’s description) in my wardrobe, bought for a work-related-undercover-kind-of-thing. Though in reality I had four—if you counted the Dalek dress I’d had specially made for Halloween, my Uhura miniskirt dress from Star Trek, and Princess Éowyn’s wedding gown from The Return of the King. I’d wanted to wear the work dress for tonight. Mia had firmly vetoed that plan.
“Jackson’s already seen you in that dress,” she’d said.
I didn’t see why that was a reason for Jackson—the aforementioned boyfriend—not to see me in it again, but I’d been hauled out to the shopping mall despite my quite logical argument that if I continued with this “rule” of not rewearing garments Jackson had seen, I’d soon be out of space in my closet. Mia had ignored me.
She’d chosen this dress, and while I’d been skeptical, she was right. As usual. It was a deep midnight-blue, which she said “brought out” my eyes, which were also blue. Silver threads were woven through the fabric (and were the source of the itching), but weren’t visible until light hit them in just the right way, so no matter which way I turned, I sparkled. It was a cap sleeve with a V-neckline that showed more cleavage than I usually displayed. And since I usually displayed none, I hoped Jackson appreciated the view, because it was darn cold. Since I barely topped five foot two on a good day, Mia said I needed a short hem, which was the only part of the dress not clinging to me like a second skin. Floaty and overlaid with a filmy blue fabric, the skirt stopped an inch above my knee and flared when I spun in a circle, which I’d done too many times to be appropriate for my age. I was twenty-four, not six.
So, the bottom line was that the woman looking back at me in the mirror when Mia was (finally) through with my makeup looked nothing like the China Mack (that’s me) that I saw every day, which I suppose was the point. It was a holiday, after all, even if it was just a Hallmark one.

My Thoughts: All Is Fair In Love and Cyber War.
So happy that China Mack is back and that more is obviously to follow! This second novel in the Corrupted Hearts series is just as amazing as the first maybe better with point of view changes and guest appearances from The Kathleen Turner series. Tiffany Snow has given me a female heroine whom I relate to on so many levels that I almost feel normal reading about China's issue until she endures hacking, espionage and problems dealing with two hot men.
Finally adjusting to the notion that her controlled-routine life is no longer an option thanks to people now actively in her life, China is now faced with trying to balance a social life and super secret work life. Dating one of Forbes hottest bachelors should be an females dream, but China is barely used to social norms and to be quickly thrust into celebrity status was something she hadn't calculated in dating the Jackson Cooper. So when her position as the head of operations for the President's off the records department of cyber intelligence code name Vigilance is compromised, China begins to take matters into her own hands and starts relying on the dangerous and handsome Clark Slattery. It's not till Jackson and Cysnet are threatened with actions of treason that China finds herself having to decide whom to trust and who is the enemy when it comes to politics, espionage, love and cyber war.
Overall, great sequel! Absolutely love China and wish we could be awkward BFFs!! The dialogue Tiffany writes for this series is super chill, I know that's not very descriptive, but China as a brainiac is truly simple to understand. Her black is black and white is white, it's those in her life that bring complications. Jackson is a great guy for China in being similar minded, but I'm really pulling for Clark. I don't know why but I'm always rooting for the side guy in Tiffany's books. Besides all the relational business, I loved how much China was pushed out of her comfort zone. Honestly, no one likes to be out of sync but it's how you respond and adapt that makes or breaks you. Oh and last two points: 1) love the change up in character perspective mid novel which gave a fuller picture to the story through the eyes of the guys and 2) fans of Blane Kirk will be thoroughly pleased with what Tiffany drops in this novel. So if you were a fan of "Follow Me" then you'll definitely devour this book and want more of Ms. Mack.

Chapter 1:
O. M. G.
I turned slowly in front of the full-length mirror.
I looked fantastic!
I smoothed the fitted bodice of my high-neck halter dress. Black satin wrapped around my neck, flowing into black-on-black horizontal stripes that ended just under my breasts. The fabric changed to a shimmery gold with vertical black stripes extending down the skirt. It was sleeveless and fit perfectly. The designer off Etsy who’d made it had done an incredible job. The light glinted off the subtle gold tones and the skirt flared in a perfect bell to my ankles.
The doorbell rang and I nervously adjusted my hat, turning it slightly until it was just right. Tugging on silver gloves that went past my elbow and halfway up my arm, I then slipped on a pair of matching gold ballet slipper flats and hurried through the living room to the front door, swinging it open just as the bell rang again.
“Happy Hallo—” My voice trailed away in dismay. “What are you wearing?” I blurted.
Jackson Cooper—my erstwhile boss and current boyfriend—stood in my doorway, eyeing me with the same look of shock that I was sure was on my face.
“I’m wearing a tux,” he said, gesturing to his attire—a gorgeous black tuxedo with a blindingly white shirt, perfectly tied bow tie, and black shoes that shone even in the dim light. “What the hell are you wearing?”
“A dress,” I said, maybe a little defensively. Okay, a lot defensively. I was starting to be a bit concerned that I’d misinterpreted what Jackson had meant when I’d asked what kind of party we were going to on Halloween. “I’m a dalek.”
“I can see that,” he said, gesturing to my hat, a gold dome complete with knobs and eye stalk. “But why are you dressed as a dalek?”
“It’s a Halloween party, isn’t it? I asked you and you said, ‘Yes, it’ll be fancy, so dress up.’ That’s what I did.”
“China . . .”
That’s me. China Mack. Well, sort of. Mack was a shortened version of my middle name—Mackenzie—not my real last name, which was so long it had proven unpronounceable by 99 percent of the people who tried. In school, I’d never been able to fit my whole name in those little bubbles on standardized tests. Not that I’d had to take many of those. Once my IQ was measured at one hundred seventy-five—genius range—I’d never taken another one of those tests. Instead, I’d been fast-tracked and had graduated MIT at the age of nineteen with two undergrad degrees in computer science and biological engineering plus a master’s in engineering. That was four years ago.
Jackson passed a hand over his eyes while I bit my lip, awkwardly switching the wire whisk I was holding to the other hand. The gold, palm-sized, half-moon-shaped balls attached up and down the length of my skirt banged against the door as I stepped back. The noise made me wince, as did Jackson’s sigh.
“You do that a lot,” I said.
“I do what a lot?”
“Sigh.” He said nothing, so I continued. “I mean, it’s perfectly natural. Your body even requires sighing. When a person needs a breathing machine, sighs have to be programmed into the ventilator or the patient will suffer from oxygen deprivation.”
His lips twitched. “Is that so?”
I nodded . . . and my hat slid off. Jackson caught it neatly before it hit the floor. “Thanks,” I said, taking it from him. The two little knobs on the side looked a little like Shrek to me, but it went with the costume. “I guess I should go change.”
“Probably a good idea.”
“This’ll make a great cosplay costume for ComicCon, though,” I said, turning my back to him. “Unzip me?”
“Mmmm . . . yes, please . . .” This was followed by the slow lowering of my zipper and the touch of Jackson’s lips to the back of my neck. Suddenly I wasn’t sorry at all that I needed to change.
Twenty minutes later, Jackson was buttoning his shirt and tucking the tails back into his slacks while I stood in front of my closet clad in my favorite Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels panty and bra set in dove-gray lace with white trim. Hands on hips, I surveyed my clothing.
“I have a problem.”
“Just one?”
I wasn’t the best at inferring whether someone was joking or not—one of my many social inadequacies—so I turned to glance at Jackson. He was grinning at me and looking too sexy for a man who’d just given me three orgasms in a row. But the smile meant he was teasing.
“Yes, just one at the moment, but it’s a big one.” I gestured to my clothes. “I don’t have anything to wear.”
“Surely you have a dress, a skirt, something,” he said.
I shook my head. “I own a TARDIS dress, a Star Trek—the Original Series—Uhura minidress, and Princess Éowyn’s wedding gown from Return of the King.”
“If you own Princess Leia’s metal bikini, we’re skipping the party.”
“That chafes,” I said absently, turning around to poke through my closet again. Did I have anything in the back that I’d forgotten?
“We’ll revisit that later,” he said. “What about Mia?”
“She’s out at a friend’s house,” I replied. “What about her?” I failed to see how my niece’s presence would alleviate my problem.
“I meant, what about her clothes?” Jackson asked. “You two are about the same size. She probably has something you can wear.”
I gave Jackson a look. “She wears like a size two. Besides, I can’t just go wear someone else’s clothes. Not only is it rude, it’s unsanitary.”
“I’m sure she washes her clothes,” he said, reaching for my hand.
“But she washes her yoga pants with her fleece,” I protested, obediently letting him lead me to my niece’s bedroom, which used to be my storage room before she moved in a couple of months ago.
“So?”
“So . . . everyone knows that if you wash fleece with something stretchy, lint becomes forever embedded in the stretchy fabric. She should wash her yoga pants with other stretchy workout wear, though why she wears workout clothes just to sit on the couch and watch television is beyond me.”
Jackson opened Mia’s closet and began searching through it. Selecting a garment, he pulled it out and held it up in front of me. “That should work.”
I looked down. “But it’s really short . . .” As in miniskirt short.
“Yes.”
“It’s October. I’ll freeze.”
“No, you won’t. I’ll keep you warm.”
I opened my mouth to tell him he couldn’t physically fulfill such a promise, but the look in his eye and the set of his jaw told me his patience might be wearing thin. I took the dress.
“Okay.” I unzipped it, stepped in, and pulled the black fabric up my legs, shimmying to get it over my hips. “She shouldn’t even own a dress like this. She’s only fifteen.”
“Kids nowadays,” Jackson said, and I was glad to see him smiling slightly again.
I pushed my arms through the holes and turned around so he could zip me. “It barely covers my . . . tush.”
“Your tush?” he teased with a laugh.
“Well, what else are you supposed to call it? Butt sounds vulgar. Ass is worse. Rear sounds like I’m a granny.” I looked over my shoulder at him. “What do you call it?”
His hand settled on the body part in question and squeezed. “I call it awesome,” he said softly, his lips by my ear.
Though he hadn’t really answered my question, I wasn’t dumb enough not to appreciate a heartfelt compliment on my . . . “Posterior?” I tested out. Jackson just laughed.
“That’s even worse. Come on. Let’s go.”
