- SYNOPSIS -
It’s revenge—sweet and hot—in the first book of this sexy and wickedly funny series by international bestselling author Tara Brown.

For the young, rich, and beautiful, summertime in the Hamptons means one thing: Fling Club. Only this time, Cherry Kennedy won’t be selecting a boy for a fleeting romance. Nope, this season, Cherry is out for revenge. Her target? The Fling Club founder and society darling who slept with Cherry’s now-very-ex-boyfriend. And all Cherry needs is the perfect guy for her plan…

Ashley Jardine can’t afford to refuse. He scored almost a full ride to MIT. But that almost still costs a lot. And this is so much money for a little game of revenge and a chance—albeit short—to live the high life. Here, rich girls rule the shore, and everyone has a role to play. Only nothing in the job description warned Ashley that the redhead who’s running the scheme would be so crazy. And cute. Or that he wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about her.

Now, everything is going according to plan—until an unexpected attraction raises the stakes. It’s enough to turn the perfect payback into absolute heartbreak.

My Thoughts: Mean Girls Invades The Hamptons 💅🏻
If you grew up terrified but entranced by all things upper east side like Gossip Girl or those too rich for you snobs like The O.C., then you’ll enjoy this book and series to follow. This book takes the worst of the blue blood east coast world and has the characters go from revolting to repenting. Honestly, it’s not a feel good happy rom-com but definitely hate to love with laughter thrown in to break the painful tension.
Having found love and wanting out of Fling Club, a members only girls rule the Hamptons and boys are secondary to the members highly guarded rules, Cheryl ‘Cherry’ Kennedy had hopes of quitting the summer flings. But when she finds her boyfriend. Griffin, in bed with the Fling Club leader, Cait; Cherry now has one thing on her mind: Revenge. With the help of her sister and brother, Cherry begins to plan the perfect plan to bring down Cait, but they need bait and in walks MIT student, Ashley Jardine. He dislikes the rich and all they do and stand for, but the attraction to him and he to Cherry is instantaneous. Will the two be able to resist and keep to their parts of the plan, even when their HEA could be at stake?
Overall, I loved it, probably because I’ve grown up with this kind of a romance novel and enjoy when the pauper gets to stick it a bit to the princess. Luckily the princess in this story is just a rich socialite in America and realizes her place in the world isn’t set in stone, she can change her status and future especially with some help from a sexy nerd. I gotta say I think Ashley is one if not the sexiest nerds I’ve ever read about, and he’s sure not shy when it comes to some romance. Got to remind myself to get post-its and get to MIT stat! Anyways, I’m excited to see what more could happen in this series and hopefully some more scenes involving Ashley and Cherry.

My Rating:  📔📔📔📔📔
My Thoughts: Friend or Foe?
Sequel to TS901: Anomaly, Authors Stacy Rourke and Tish Thawer have written anther chapter to rise and rebellion of the Mallies. The beaten down group from The Hive are no longer addicts, drunkards, or cowards but are rebel and fighters for freedom and equality.
The team is spread out fighting for their freedom against the Nary army. Now the symbol of hope and resistance, Thia leads her group from Nary base to base, all while avoiding the big whole in her heart. So while Evan would like nothing more than to kiss and make up Thia knows what it’s like to lose him and fears letting him in again. But when Lance comes with a vision saying Giselle is in trouble and held back in The Hill. Thia decides no matter the cost she’s going after her BFF. Risen from their literal hole in the ground, Thia, Lance, and her ‘Maly’ brethren have escaped The Hive and now face a full-on war. Welcoming the distraction from her abysmal love life, Thia throws herself into training the troops and claiming Nary bases. The only problem for the group things don’t appear to be what they seem and the Hill is packed with one too many enemies within.
Overall, this story freaking had me there for a bit! Without giving up spoilers I was actually afraid that some people turned coat and that people died, but once you see and read you’ll breathe a bit like I did. I love how a few couples emerge in this book, I know it’s mostly Thia and Evan but some cute moments occur for others too that I think beat out Thia and Evan. Now I’m dying for the next novel because I want more and more of bff and boyfriends kicking butt together as Naries vs. Malies lines begin to blur and the issue now becomes just simply good versus evil. Can't wait till next novel!

Not all secrets stay buried.

Fresh from the set of her latest movie, Lizzie Benedict and her closest friends hit the Caribbean for a couple of weeks of partying, and whatever else might happen aboard the SS Dirty Oar.

When the luxury yachting trip hits rough seas, Lizzie isn’t prepared for what happens next, a sunken ship and someone else’s boyfriend rescuing her.

Waking up on the sunny, deserted island seems like a nightmare at first. Until the ten sexy celebrities decide to make the best of it. Sunbathing and eating fresh fruit off each other’s bodies is not the worst way to spend a week. There are no paparazzi and the weather is fine.

But the party only lasts so long.

Soon enough the reality of being shipwrecked hits them and the group begins to worry. Only their biggest concern isn’t being rescued.

There’s someone else on the island.

And Lizzie and her friends have something they want. Or rather, someone.

The group has two choices: die at the hands of what appears to be a nightmare, or fight back.

EXCERPT
Prologue:
The waves rocked the yacht much like they would a dinghy rather than an ocean cruiser that could handle anything. But the wind had picked up around lunch, worsening the already rough seas we’d endured for days.
At the time the trip was planned, the weather had sounded ideal, but I’d overheard the captain say this part of the Atlantic was known for being rough and unpredictable, so a change in the forecast wasn't surprising, just annoying.
Tonight, I found it more than annoying. It stressed me out that our plan might go off schedule with the changing weather
, bringing an unforeseen possibility of disaster. And uncontrollable.
I hurried toward the kitchen but paused in the hall outside the galley, swearing I heard the sound of a woman’s voice being muffled nearby.
Spinning in a slow circle, I listened intently but couldn't place where it had come from until it happened again, right next to me.
“No! I said no!” a woman protested halfheartedly, making me jump.
Behind the door next to me was a linen closet, one I’d already taken refuge in for a secret meeting.
But now a guy spoke softly—his words impossible to be heard from where I stood—to which the girl giggled again. She clearly was not being forced to remain in there with whoever was making her laugh, despite her protests.
The sound was familiar, maybe that idiot Lizzie, but being the group we were, it could have been anyone. Everyone on this boat was hooking up with someone they shouldn't. Myself included. But appearances were everything.
I didn't have time to sit and listen to figure out who was in there. I had work to do.
My steps were silent as I tiptoed into the galley, listening for the cook. He was nowhere to be found, thank God. I didn't need another inconvenience.
The crew's dining carts had been assembled. They were always ready to fo at six in the evening, so the crew would be done dinning by the time we were ready to eat at eight every night.
With one more glance about the kitchen, I strained my ears a little harder, listening for anyone who might witness what I was about to do before slipping the vial from my pocket.
It was the last night at sea, the last night the security team could enjoy a relaxing evening off duty. The last night they would drink wine with dinner.
The kitchen was colder than the rest of the yacht.
My fingers trembled slightly as I popped the lid from the vial and sprinkled the salt-like contents into the red and white wine already in decanters. I added some to the water jugs, just in case.
Being extra careful not to touch the coarse powder, I unscrewed the lid on the salt and pepper shakers and added it to them both, emptying the last of the granules into the pepper. I tossed the vial into the garbage and washed my hands quickly before using a napkin to screw the lids on the shakers. Then I shook them slightly to mix the contents so the white wasn't noticeable in the pepper. I tossed the napkin, washed my clammy hands again, and stepped back from the carts.
    This was it.
This was the moment we were waiting and planning for.
I did a gut check, searching for remorse or regret, but there was nothing.
Tomorrow would be a new day, a start to something better. And as with all evil plots, this one was going to get worse before it got better.
With a turn, I fled the galley and hurried for the front of the ship, the panic of getting caught only leaving me when I was on the stairs, far removed from the carts of food. Instead of worrying about being caught, now I had to be hopeful their delivery would be as planned. Trusting this would go as intended wasn't easy. One wrong move and lives would be lost. And not just the ones we were gambling on.
Another loud voice caught my attention, only this time it wasn't laughter coming from a closet, but rather the captain speaking loudly to someone.
I crept through the hallway near the bridge and listened as he spoke into a phone while pacing in a small circle. It had to be a satellite phone since none of our cell phones were working. “I’m telling ya, I think we’re off course. It’s dark so I can’t be sure, but I don't even know where we are. So if I can’t get the equipment working again, I’m sending an SOS. If you haven’t heard from me in the next five or six hours, you send the SOS for me. I just hope we haven’t veered south, that would worry me.”
He didn't mention why he would be worried which made me anxious.
    We’d deviated south.
I knew that because I’d made sure of it. I just didn't know why it would matter, what was wrong with going south.
“Okay, talk later.” He hung up with a heavy sigh, leaving me with questions and no answers. Sort of the same way we’d left him when we wrecked his nav system.
He didn't know there was sabotage, he wouldn’t until it was too late.

Ben Miller met the love of his life the day he crossed paths with Elle James in their high school cafeteria. New to Beaumont, he took a chance when he approached her. Their first encounter was everything his mother ever read to him about fairy tales. He saw the girl who would be his forever.

From the moment Elle James met Ben Miller they’ve been best friends. Everything they did, they did it together, from late night study sessions, family vacations, throwing bottles off the water tower, going to prom and finally moving to California for college.

However, after the almost tragic accident where she nearly lost her twin sister, Elle’s life hasn’t been the same, and neither has her relationship with Ben.

One fateful decision changes the scope of Ben and Elle’s relationship. For one, it means a new beginning. For the other, it means change.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<==========>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
EXCERPT
With Ben on my mind, I make my way over to the café where he has work-study. When he first got this job, I teased him only because he went from working at Whimsicality to the Java Spot, and had a slew of other jobs he could’ve applied for. He said working here made sense, it’s what he knew and could easily do the job without much training. He was right, and this quickly became our hangout, except right now he’s not here when he should be.
“Hey, Tim. Do you know where Ben is?”
He shakes his head. “Nah, he’s not on the schedule today.”
Odd. I smile. “Okay, thanks.” It doesn’t make sense that he wouldn’t be here. He’s always working at this time, but maybe he had a final scheduled. I pull out my phone and send him a text, and then scroll through the barely answered messages. When he does answer, it’s one word, and usually, it’s a yes or no, which is vastly different from a few weeks ago.
I try not to let it bother me as I head back home. Traffic is light, and when I get there, Peyton and Quinn are in the midst of a heated battle over whatever video game they’re playing. They don’t acknowledge me, and that’s okay. This is something they share, although if you look at Quinn, you’d think he wouldn’t be a sports fan. However, this is where his friendship with Noah comes into play. And probably Quinn’s love for Peyton. While they bond over video games and sports, Quinn and I have our music. Well, more his than mine. I’m the least musically inclined one of the bunch, even though I can play the guitar.
“Let me know when it’s safe to walk in front of the television.” I stand there, waiting. I’ve been on the receiving end a time or two, getting yelled at because I walked in front of the TV at the wrong time. Over the years, I’ve learned to wait.
“You’re clear,” Quinn says. Instead of passing by, I drop my bag and take the spot in between them. Both lean toward me as if they know I need their comfort, but neither wanting to bring attention to the fact.
“Who’s winning?”
“I am,” Peyton says.
“She cheats.”
Peyton throws her hands up in the air. “How, Quinn? We’re playing on a console. It’s impossible to cheat.”
I look at Quinn, who shrugs. The game starts back up, and it’s easy to tell who Peyton is. I start to laugh as she controls her future husband on the screen and when things don’t go her way, she yells at him, almost as if he could hear her.
“Poor Noah. He’s not even here to defend himself,” I direct at Peyton. She rolls her eyes and continues her onslaught of Quinn, while I sit there, sandwiched in between my siblings.
When the game is over, Peyton jumps up and does a little cheer before sticking her hand out. “Pay up.”
“You made a bet with her?” I look at Quinn.
“I’ve been practicing,” he laments.
I point at Peyton. “And you don’t think she has? Geesh, Quinn, she lives with a quarterback. I’m sure they play all the time.”
“Noah loses too.” Peyton is very nonchalant about beating Noah as she pockets the money from Quinn. “Go grab your stuff, Quinn will take us to the airport.”
The beauty of having a private jet at our disposal is we don’t have to book tickets. Our dad works with the pilot to file the flight plan, and the pilot tells us when to be at the landing strip. Last night, I packed everything I would need, which isn’t much, and rush off to my room to grab my bag.
Peyton and Quinn are waiting for me, ready to leave. Outside, I stare at Ben’s door, wondering if I should text him one more time or wait for him to respond. Maybe I need to step back and give him some space, even if it hurts me.
The drive to the airport takes longer than anticipated because of traffic, the only thing I hate about this area. You have to time your departure right, or you could get stuck for hours, all because someone put on their brakes at the wrong time.
When we finally arrive, we tell Quinn to have a fun week without us and thank him for dropping us off. The desk agent is laughing at us when we enter the facility. She tells us the pilot’s waiting and to have a fun trip. The both of us run to the plane and climb the stairs. I come to a complete halt even with Peyton crashing into me.
“What gives,” she says. “Oh.”
“Yeah, oh.” There are red and white roses spread everywhere and a bottle of champagne on the table. “You’re so lucky.”
“It’s our first time really apart like this,” Peyton says. I’m not even sure they’re from Noah, but who else would do this.
“What about during the season?”
“He’s home a couple of days a week, and I fly to him on Fridays.”
“I see.” Somehow, I knew this, but it didn’t really register. Peyton and I sit across from each other and buckle up. Our flight attendant has notified the pilot that we’re on board and ready and before I know it, we’re off the ground and soaring toward paradise.
The stewardess pops the cork on the champagne for us and pours us each a glass. “Thank you,” we both tell her. I reach across the table and tap my glass to my sister’s. “Here’s to a week of sun, sand, and whatever else we may do.”
“Like plan my wedding, talk about boys and eat our way through Aruba.”
I’m all for two of the three options she said, but talking about boys is something I don’t want to do. As I look around the cabin, I realize Peyton is living most girls’ fairy tales. I mean, what guy thinks about sending flowers ahead to decorate the inside of a plane? Noah does because he’s crazy in love with my sister. I’m happy for her, beyond happy actually, but jealous all the same. I want what they have. I want the all-consuming type of love where we each know what the other is thinking or where we may be in a room full of people.
“I want what you and Noah have.”
“What do you mean?” Peyton asks. I realize I hadn’t meant to say that aloud, but now that I have, Peyton’s looking at me expectantly.
“I want a guy who looks at me the way Noah looks at you. I want this”—I spread my arms out—“I want to walk in a room and search the crowd, only to feel my man coming behind me and when he touches me I know… I just know.”
“You have all that.”
“Pfft, with whom? I’ve never dated seriously since we were allowed to date. It’s not like my knight in shining armor is someone I know.”
“But he is,” she says.
“Who are you talking about?”
“Ben, of course.”
