*Synopsis*
In a modern world ruled by territorial Greek gods, the human race has been oppressed, exploited and now, nearly destroyed by the constant infighting of gods.

However, a human girl with the power of a goddess is coming of age. Alessandra is the Oracle of Delphi – the last prophesized – and bears the mark of the double omega. Soon after she turns eighteen, Alessandra is told her destiny: to step between the warring gods and the human race and save her world from certain ruin.

For the gods, her appearance marks the beginning of the end – their end. They and the Triumvirate – leaders of the human elite – who serve them will stop at nothing to preserve their power.

Alessandra emerges from the forest where she spent her life hidden from gods and men and immediately plummets into a race against time, gods, and herself to discover who and what she is in a world where everyone she meets has a hidden agenda, and those pulling the strings remain in the shadows.

Before she can determine exactly what kind of savior her world needs, she must first master her power by completing three trials devised by the Triumvirate to enslave her.

One lone girl stands between warring gods and the people she’s destined to protect, but it’s the battle to understand who she is that she must win first.

My Thoughts: Made To Run And Finally Finds Home.

These two books are a rare find, both are action packed to the max with suspense and mystery, oh and of course family, friends and love. Perhaps one of the biggest wow factors about these two books are the way each of the stories were written. "I Know Lucy" was written from a character's perspective about Lucy with flashbacks about her in 3rd person, while "Set Me Free" is from Lucy's perspective. The differing character perspectives helps heightens the intensity of the story and aids in deepening your connection to the main characters, Lucy and Zach.
"I Know Lucy" introduces readers to Zach Schultz who becomes infatuated with the new girl in school, Lucy Tate. Zach quickly brings Lucy into his life and best friends, but there is a mysteriousness about her that he just can't peg. Zach is not one to let a mystery go unsolved and he quickly sets out to find out who is Lucy? In "Set Me Free" a reader is taken through the amazing conclusion to the Fugitive Series beginning where the first book left off. Zach and Lucy work together to ensure her past is set right, so she can be free to live in the present and finally plan for a future life.
Overall, I loved the suspense and solid relationship that develops between Lucy and Zach, plus Lucy is just a super heroine! Lucy's life is literally hell and heart break after heart break, but she still lives on. The fact she didn't become a basket case after all the physical and emotional trauma she endured is a testament to the fact of just how resilient she is. However, my absolute favorite part is when she decides to stop running and fight back for a chance at peace and a home with Zach. Oh and Zach, he is definitely selfless and relentless about seeking justice especially for those he loves. The only issue I'd say I have is with the second book's perspective choice.  I wish it had been kept to just Lucy's perspective and not switched between her and Zach's points of views so the focus would be kept more on Lucy. Besides that, I loved the pace, the action, and the characters. Also the series conclusion was okay but it is was it is, since it was realistic in that Lucy would have had to go back to a real life not just her and Zach get a magical HEA. However, I also know there may be more about Zach and Lucy in the future IF the author decides to return the series, which *fingers crossed, I hope it happens, because I really love them and want more from Lucy.

Now be forewarned listed below are each books descriptions none are too revealing BUT still read at your own risk. I dare ya!

My Thoughts: Drama On The High Seas!
Story begins with a mysterious situation and ends on a emotional high. The characters are set in a contemporary world with superpowers from mind reading to levitation. The author spliced real world and fantasy like any superhero novel, but included hot romance between her main leads to make a reader turn page after page.
Emotions can be deadly when they overpower a person's supernatural ability, a fact Nautia Olson knows all to well. Being labeled unstable since the death of her twin brother Nate, Nautia hasn't been able to control her gift of water manipulation. As an aquator her skill is rare but she is a liability to those around her when she lets any emotion in the form of fear to anger to sadness take over her concentration. So when the U.S. Navy comes asking for her help on a top secret mission via the form of Captain Riley Barton, Nautia isn't sure she is up for the important job. Nautia eventually agrees to the mission thanks to her best friend Kray reminding her that this may be the one chance to find out what really happened to her brother and why she has such vivid nightmares of his death.
Overall, great book that definitely took me by surprise at the end. The mystery of it all was figuring out what was so special and "wrong" with Nautia. The poor girl is obviously special but its the why that bugs you until all is fully revealed. Nautia and Riley's relationship is cute; Basically Riley has it bad for the girl, while the girl is hung up on I don't want to hurt you with my powers problem. So you really kinda fall for Riley because he is sooo understanding and tries to be mister perfect boyfriend despite his mission and rank. Oh and their scenes were steamy, didn't expect that; Perhaps because I was stuck on the whole scifi-mystery part of the book and the romance side took me by surprise. My only issue was how the dialogue played out, the character perspectives changed chapter by chapter, however sometimes the scene would continue into the next chapter while changing into the alternative perspective, which continually broke up the moment for me. Then there is a bit of literary bread crumbs in the story that hinted at more for maybe a sequel, but if none are in the making than the end may have been to rushed in order to have that HEA conclusion. So if you want a new adult novel about a girl trying to find out why and how her brother died while honing her emotions to control her power over all things water aaannd read about her trying to make a relationship work too with a hot captain who is all about her, than this book will be worth a read.

- EXCERPT -
I can’t move. My arms, my legs, they won’t budge.

It’s pitch-black, but I think I’m inside of something. Something long and small…a capsule, maybe? Stretched out above my head, my fingers touch cold metal. Whatever I’m inside of is only as long as I am. I wouldn’t have much wiggle room, even if I could move.

I don’t know how I got here or how long I’ve been tied up. I do a quick mental scan, searching for any piece of information. Nothing. I can’t even recall my own name.

What I do know is I’m running out of oxygen. Each breath comes shorter, faster, and if I can’t control it soon, I’ll pass out before I figure out what’s going on.

I close my eyes, suck in one deep breath, and let it out through puckered lips.

Calm down.
Relax.
Slow your heart rate.

What I tell myself comes from memory, though I have no clue where it came from. Whatever it is, though, it works. Somehow, my body is trained to go into hibernation mode on mental command.

Now I need to figure out how to get out of here. With my eyes still closed, I concentrate on the smell of my prison. The more I know about this box, the better my chances are of escaping. The tang of what I inhale reminds me of burnt metal and rubber. There’s another scent too, one I can’t place, even though my brain insists I know. I dig deeper, filing through blank spaces that aren’t supposed to be empty. I probably shouldn’t be spending precious energy on it, but something tells me this strange odor is important.

Bright light pours over my face, and my eyelids fly open. Above me, sunlight streams through a circular window. I don’t know how long it will last, so I quickly confirm that I am inside some sort of capsule with silver metal walls. I also confirm that I was right earlier: the tube is small, barely big enough to fit my body. The window sits exactly six inches from the tip of my nose, though I have no idea how I know that.

I see nothing above me except blue skies. I don’t hear anything outside either.

I tug at the restraints holding me in place, but they don’t give. And then I feel something, something on the outside. The capsule I’m in is moving—upward. Shit.

Calm down. Relax. Slow your heart rate, I repeat to myself.

It’s working. My body is responding—
Until I begin to free fall.

I’m not in it for long before the tube hits water. I know it’s water because of the buoyancy of the capsule. But I know because of something else too—I feel it. Surrounding me, the water gives off its own energy, almost as if it’s surrendering to me, willing me to control it. Which makes no sense.

Above me, the sunlight begins to refract as it struggles to break through the water now covering the tiny window. That’s when I realize I’m sinking. Deeper, deeper underwater.

As the light fades, the panic inside me rises. I try the calming mantra again, but nothing happens.

Drops of water fall onto my forehead. The seal around my window creaks under the pressure of the water.

I’m going to drown.

I struggle against the restraints. Twisting my body. Pulling at my wrists and ankles. I yank and kick, but it’s in vain. I’m trapped.

“Fuck!” I scream.

Water sprays in from the seal, salty like the ocean, and suddenly I register where I am—in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of South Korea. Except, I still don’t know why I’m here or how I got here.

What I do know is that this is where I’m going to die.

My Thoughts: Very Adult Version of Bewitched or Sabrina The Teenage Witch

Looking for an adult but quirky contemporary magic romance read than this book is it for you. The story is narrated by the female lead as she talks to you about her life and situations, which go from down in the dumps to crazy magical. The humor and situations are definitely adult themed and NOT for a younger audience.
Finding her date nights being centered around a book boyfriend instead of a real boyfriend, Leigh Epstein, doesn't think she settling when she chooses her werewolf-vampire Vlad over boring Carl. But then tragedy strikes when her beloved Vlad is killed off in her favorite series. Leigh in her midst of grief comes to the idea that she should try her hand at writing her favorite types of books. Taking her idea and running with it Leigh picks up a free desk and pens a steamy romance scenes. Only later does Leigh find out that those scenes she writes comes to life in the most literal ways of her imagination. With this new power Leigh tries her best to pen the best scenarios, but with good intentions still come grave consequences and things do go awry. Luckily Leigh may have one gift from her new magic, and his name is Hunter. The question is can he survive her new gift and can Leigh handle her magic?
Overall, okay read. Writing wasn't stellar but it made me chuckle her and there but was a bit too forward for me. I suppose Rom Com and my literature in general, still keeps most things at jokes and innuendos, but Leigh and her friends were a bit too lewd for me. I could handle the mistakes and Leigh rushing to fix them, but the situations were just not as funny as they were dirty. Now the writing style was unique as it may change your exception of the book since Leigh writes as if she's speaking to you at times and then goes about her day; which is a style some find a bit odd. Oh and the ending was nicely wrapped up and then BAM it went on toward something more to make a cliffhanger ending, so that was unexpected. So is you are looking for a more girlie grown-up Rom Com where the girl fixes her steamy writing that magically turns from fantasy to reality, then this book is for you but the series isn't for me.
