My Thoughts: Lost And Then Found.
This was one of the most confusing Mortal Beloved Time Travel books in the series, but it was also the most character revealing. If you haven't read the previous two books in the series do so or you will most certainly be lost. The story is a pivotal moment in the protagonist life and for the overall series, more is unveiled about the messengers purpose and world leaving me wanting to read more.
Returning from her last time travel, Madeline has started training with her 3 mentors while still trying to get through school. Which means Madeline barely has time to revel in the fact she has Samuel, in her present time, as her boyfriend something she believed may never happen. So when prom comes around, Madeline is ready to enjoy it with Samuel and forget for a night her duties of being a messenger. But events unfold and something goes terribly wrong leaving Madeline in a coma at the hospital. It's while in the coma that Madeline will travel back and forth trying to fix what must be done to save lives and deliver the correct message to the right person before it's too late. However it's during her time travels, Madeline will find out who she really is and what her life is meant for.
Overall, good read that had be wondering where and what it was leading to, but then the ending was great. A cliffhanger of sorts but revealed so much. Madeline grows in this book, she learns a lot about herself. Not just about her past or family but about her true mission in life. Madeline is no ordinary messenger and now she knows she is THE seeker. My only dislike was how jumbled the book felt at times but it's almost needed since Madeline is that lost until the end when she finds clarity. Oh and Samuel kinda pissed me off too, but just in the beginning, when he was txting at Prom like dude really?! And bringing up an Ex never a smooth move. But again this was a book about Madeline and her journey. I know we just got this book but I want the next book already. So if you've read the previous books you'll want to read this book too because secrets are revealed that will shock you.

My Thoughts: Traveling Across Time and Space

RaShelle Workman wrote another wonderful book, her writing is only getting better and better as she continues to release novel after novel and series after series! This book entails a multitude of facets time and love being the top two as it sets up the stage for the next book in the series.
Lady Lucy Channing dreamed of nothing but a dashing, loving and adoring husband while growing up, but upon coming of age she was promised to her childhood best friend and heir to the dukedom Dashel. The reality that her marriage will be of convenience and respect rather than love is a crushing thought but Lucy would take that over a rotten marriage like her parents. It's not until Lucy's grandmother offers her an opportunity at finding her true with the help of a magical locket that she reaches out to take a chance to find her true love. Enter Mr. William Godwin, he helps Lucy acclimate into the current world of 2015 since its a whole lot different from 1815 from where she lived.
Overall liked the story and can't wait for the second novel to come out. This was definitely a first book in the story where the characters are setup and readers are able to get a feel for them and the series. Personally I was really hoping Dashel would win out but knew there was someone else for Lucy. Either way this was a cute story with a contemporary twist that kinda of read like an Austin novel at times just because of the Victorian language and decorum Lucy used and behaved. Like I said can't wait for the next book especially with the way things left off. Let's just say if you read it you'll want more too.

*synopsis*
Time Traveler. Messenger. Beloved. Spy.

“I was a Messenger: I kept the memory of all our encounters, our lives, like a locket that brushes the skin and bones covering my heart. But Samuel was a Healer: he didn’t time travel. His kind lived, died, re-incarnated, and he didn’t retain memories from his past lives. Every year I landed in required starting our relationship over: from ashes, from scrap… Every place I journeyed had beauty as well as darkness; all my time-travels were bittersweet.” ~ Madeline.

Madeline’s a Messenger: time traveling across lifetimes and delivering messages that could change one life or many. When she discovers that her true love, Samuel, is alive in present day, but doesn’t remember her from their past, she journeys to a deadly royal conflict in medieval Portugal hoping to rekindle his memory. Mortal assassins as well as dark-souled time travelers seek to kill her. Will Madeline and Samuel be together again in life—or only in death?

My Thoughts: Royals, Lords, Assassins, Hunters, Healers And Messengers, Who Else Could Be Involved?

Picking up where book one, "Messengers" left off, a reader in quickly thrown into this new story. Now that the main character knows who and what she is the plot only thickens with more questions. So if you have not read the first book you must before falling into this story filled with the intrigue and deceit of court life back in medieval times mixed in with all of the main characters problems of being a Messenger.
Returning to her timeline should have Madeline excited, but seeing her Samuel riding away on the L train was not the welcome home she wanted. Shortly after returning home a new messenger named Ryan Preston, enters her life as a mentor to train and prepare Madeline for her coming travels. All the while, Madeline now knows the sad fact that the Samuel in her time period does not know her or recognize the love they have. Desperate to travel on her own to hopefully help spark remembrance in Samuel from his reincarnations, Madeline ends up in Medieval Portugal amidst dark political times. Thinking she is only there to deliver a message while being a gypsy, Madeline takes on the persona of Nadja. It's as Nadja that she meets Lord Samuel who is acting not at all like the boy she loves, leaving Madeline crushed and heartbroken despite how she still longs for her Samuel the Healer. Nothing seems clear and Madeline finds herself mixed up in the murky Portugal politics where assassins are involved and Hunters show up to make matters more dangerous. The only questions Madeline needs to figure out fast to return home are, what is the message and who is it for?
Overall, loved it! Madeline was much more of a heroine in this book because she was alone, grant it Samuel was there but not really her true support since he basically didn't know her. And I loved that, now at first I hated it but I realized that tension pulled so much more growth out of Madeline that made me love her all the more as a strong female character. Really girl had to do it on her own and winning her man back by traveling to meet just to literally make a lasting impression, cool move. Now only problem I have is I'm still a bit murky on who the heck Ryan is and why he had to be introduced, especially being added as a love interest distraction type guy; so I'm hoping that's cleared up in the next book. Oh and Madeline's conflict with Malachi that too needs clarifying, because it just got weirder at the end. Anyways, I enjoyed this story more than the first and can't wait to see Madeline travel again. So if you like time travel medieval politics involving assassins and reading about the heroine having to take on her own personal enemies too all the while trying to win back her man, than I suggest reading this book after you've read the first book or you may just be lost.

My Thoughts: Greatly Enjoyable For Those Into Vampires, Romance and Time Travel.

I loved this book! This book took me by surprise in being completely unique and captured my taste for a nice bit of romance, tasteful vampires and historical fiction. Strange combination of genres but the authors take the reader on a great story with characters I just didn't want to say bye to, even with that cute ending. Intrigued? Good.
Told in a dual person perspective, the female main character is Laurel Mayfield. Recently moved from a small town in Kansas to Sperling, Pennsylvania; Laurel hopes to save her money while working at the local renovated bar called Mystic so she can finally head to the grand city of New York. However, It's living in the city of Sperling that brings a sense of intrigue and mystery as something seems off to Laurel but she can't figure out what exactly. Laurel has a run in with a would be attacker and is saved by a man whom she can't help but feel taken with despite having just met him. Sebastian Thorn is known as the prince among his kind, he's been around for ages, but it's this one female that seems to capture him like no other. When Laurel finds out who and what Sebastian is events take place, history is witnessed, and maybe rewritten. At the center of it all Sebastian and Laurel find themselves trying to stay together even as their lives are threatened and danger arises when they can no longer tell friend from foe.
Overall, love this story, it's long but it has to be so you can understand every awesome thing! Sebastian is a awesome and the definition of a knight in shining armor, he is always out to help the damsel in distress which literally gets him imprisoned and punished big time. So seeing how he rescued the right damsel who is just as self sacrificing is refreshing for a romance because their relationship was a healthy balance. Oh and as a history nerd I loved the times Laurel was in the Tudor time period, because it felt authentic. Sometimes time travel story's get too far off into the fantasy or fiction, but the authors kept those scenes historical as fictionally possible. There is sooo much more I'd say about this story but I won't spoil the good parts. So if you like vampires who save a woman they have a connection to but can't figure out why and the woman will do anything including travel through time to save her man than all the while conspiracies and vampire politics are boiling in the not to subtle background, than this book would be good to try.
