My Thoughts: Bullying, Flirting, and Relationships.

This book is a high school aged story focused on many of the typical issues teenagers find themselves facing. Now keeping that in mind a reader should also be aware that the book is more character narrated than dialogue driven.
Choosing to stay quiet and endure the endless taunting and snide remarks from the high schools mean girl, Elora tries to just exist. Elora's true and best friend Tallie urges her to stop hiding herself in fear of her bully Julie and start living her life. Elora wants nothing more than to be her once happy self confident, especially since she is finally talking to her longtime crush John. Every girl in school would love to date him, including Julie, so Elora is left questioning her feelings, his actions and their every conversation.

Overall, I wanted to like the story but I couldn't truly enjoy it due to one too many cons over pros for the book. The story format was a lot of Elora telling this and that rather than the characters actually experiencing the events. For the points being made in this book and the emotional pull you'd want from the characters, more dialogue was definitely needed. Sadly I felt nothing for the characters by the end of the story, actually I was rooting for Elora and another guy to become a couple because they made more sense based on their conversations. The plot itself was good with only a few issues here and there, the ending was a bit rushed but it has a good conclusion.
